About Me

John (Jack) Sharp, Ph.D. has had a wide and varied career: a naval officer as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy, computer technical analyst and sales, consultant to a variety of industries, professor of economics and information systems, and author of several books and articles in these fields, and founder of a public-sector software company.

Jack’s interior journey began with a spiritual experience at the age of eighteen and led to an exploration of spirituality and religion which resulted in his conversion to Catholicism at the age of 23 years.

Over the years, he began meditation which eventually led to contemplation, and his calling to a ministry of chaplaincy, in his graying years. For the past 19 years, Jack has been a chaplain at care facilities for the elderly and in hospitals specializing in acute rehabilitation and behavioral medicine. 

He lives with his loving wife and family in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA, and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, reading, catch and release fishing, and meditative golf.
